How to Win Friends and Influence People

How to Win Friends and Influence People presents great and timeless social advice. It’s based on sound psychology and even if you’re an advanced student of the social arts, it’s still a great refresher. Also great is that Carnegie uses the many real-life examples to back his principles.

Alchemist

The Alchemist is written by Paulo Coelho. It’s about a shepherd named Santiago following his dream or personal legend as it is described in the book. The shepherd starts the journey with a dream about finding treasure in the Pyramids of Egypt. He goes to a gypsy woman and an old man claiming to be a mysterious king and they both advise him to pursue it. The quotes that stuck out to me in the first chapters were: “To realize one’s destiny is a person’s only obligation”, and “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Mind Power

Mind Power Into The 21st Century is a highly interesting read and I need to say that it is very well written. It actually includes anecdotes from Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mark Spitz and Carol Burnett. They are used to add that lively touch that such books need and they obviously add value to the lessons offered.

Money Master the Game

Tony Robbins is a best-selling author and consummate showman. However, his financial advice is often solid. Offering a good introduction to financial planning, MONEY is worth the read, even though it does get bogged down with self-promotion and contradictory expert interviews.

Notes from friend

The Five Big Ideas “Almost all the changes we want to make fall into one of two categories: either we want to change the way we feel about things, or we want to change our actions”. “You can change anything in your life today by changing your perceptions and changing your actions”. “Your past does not equal the future”. “The key to success is to decide what’s most important to you and then take massive action each day to make it better, even when it doesn’t look as if it’s working”. “Ultimately, it’s our decisions, not the conditions of our lives that determine our destiny”.

Rich dad Poor dad

Robert Kiyosaki emphasizes six key points through out the book. These points — which differentiate between his “poor” dad (his real dad) and the “rich” dad that helped him understand business and become wealthy — are: The rich don’t work for money The importance of financial literacy Minding your own business Taxes and corporations The rich invent money The need to work to learn and not to work for money

Start with Why

Simon argues about the “What, How and Why” of doing things and argues that often we fail to see the results because we spend a lot of time talking about the What and How and fail to tackle the most important part i.e. “Why”. Why we should be doing X? Why you should hear this talk? Why are we here today? Why are we going to work everyday”. The author argues that if we start with Why, we are likely to see a lot more positive results.

Think and Grow Rich

It starts with the way we are thinking. The essence of the book is Napoleon Hill’s famous statement: “Everything your mind can conceive, you can achieve”. The title says the same, in different words: Think and Grow Rich The book teaches you to think differently, and if you are on your way to financial freedom, this one is a must.

Being Human In the Age of AI

You should read it yourself, it is amazing book about AI.

Интелект инструксия по преминению (In Russian)
